"Cultural appropriation is always wrong, but during times like these, it's important to highlight that statement as much as we can.

The trend of K-pop Idols wearing black hairstyles (locs, braids, etc) even when it's not their place to wear them started a while ago, and the trend went on to games with Korean characters in them.

People of color who are fans of Apex Legends have expressed their feelings towards this skin multiple times, and it's not happiness they're feeling.

The whole skin, but especially the hairstyle, feels uncomfortable for black fans to see, as it's obviously straight from the 2000s Hip-Hop scene, that was created and led by black artists.

When black people wear these hairstyles that they invented during times of slavery, be it to escape a maze or to hide food, they are called dirty or seen as not creative enough. When non-black people do it, it's seen as cool, beautiful or hip.

We ask that you change the skin to something else, in behalf of the people of color in the fandom. Crypto does not need to appropriate black culture in order to look cool/nice."

Post Script: Hello, so there has been some confusion as to why Wraith and Mirage's skins with dreadlocks weren't included in this petition. I'm planning on making separate petitions for them based on how well this one does. Hype Beast is a skin you can currently obtain while the other skins were limited, and when it comes to this conversation, Hype Beast is normally the one that is talked about the most. Sorry for any confusion! No non-black character should have hairstyles like this.
