The AS3000 Wiring Rules are a mandatory "Bible" for every electrical worker in Australia and New Zealand. The rules contained are used daily in most electrical workers lives and electrical workers are expected to know them and keep up to date with amendments. At the time of writing the AS3000:2007 wiring rules cost $207.35 for a 300 page paperback version of this standard. 

A new version of this standard is about to be released this year with a whopping 540+ pages which will no doubt cost more!

Currently Electrical workers in New Zealand pay $118 NZ for their license renewal for 2 years and get access to the standards for free! therefore Australian Electrical workers are demanding better from our over priced licensing fees.
