SHACC –LATEST UPDATE 7/12/16 We met with T-NSW and NB Council yesterday in a joint “workshop” to discuss our issues with the Heaton Avenue closure proposal and raise questions as to the data/assumptions in the REF. The meeting concluded in agreement that: i) The B-Line project shouldn’t negatively impact the general traffic network; and agreed that the impact on the local community shouldn’t be disproportionate. ii) T-NSW agreed to go back and check the base assumptions and re-run their traffic model, using our data as a guide. Our main issue is that the 90 second average delay to buses from Heaton Ave in the REF is patently ridiculous. Our measurement of this delay is an average of 1-2 seconds! Don’t forget our public forum on the issue at the Clontarf Community Forum tonight in The Balgowlah Bowling Club (Bareena Park) at 7.45pm when SHAC will be the highlight agenda item. The second public information session for B-Line is also on this afternoon (Wed 7th) 4-6pm at the Balgowlah Golf Club (opposite Bally Boys). T-NSW B-Line team are seeking community feedback on their identified options (eg no left into Heaton from Manly Rd; no AM peak access to Heaton Ave; or do nothing) . Pop in for 10 minutes, have a look at the material on display, give them an earful, let them know your view and preferred option. Thank you also for the many insightful comments and suggestions that are coming through on the email. Keep them coming, I'm trying to respond as quickly as possible. Sarah Grattan
