For the last 20 years, United States federal, local, and state law enforcement has become increasingly militarized through the Department of Defense's 1033 Program.

Through the 1033 Program, law enforcement is able to obtain excess weapons, vehicles, and technology that is unwanted by the military for use in "counter-terrorism" and "counter-drug" efforts. This equipment is not being used to keep the people safe. The militarization of local police leads to greater civilian deaths and increases overall police violence. 

In 2017, President Donald Trump revoked former President Barack Obama's Executive Order 13688, effectively removing all equipment prohibitions, training, and oversight on the 1033 Program. Militarization of the police puts everyone's lives at risk.

Demand the eradication of Program 1033!
