Picture of the Belmont Heavy Industrial Park GDP with river crossing overlay of Option A right of way highlighted in Red. The river crossing option was moved into the Resource Protection Area to accommodate the Industrial Plan.
The Heavy industrial rezoning is upstream and would impair the pristine water quality of the waterfall during land clearing and the Heavy Industrial use. I can imagine all the fluids and road grime that drips off the trucks after the Truck are washed that will make it to the waterfall eventually.
If you can't attend the Public Hearing, please email the Supervisors and CC me in the Email. The email Addresses are below.
I will also continue my Park Rally Presentation at the beginning of the Supervisor meeting. Please come out and speak in support of the Park or the River Crossing. Just knowing you're in the audience is great support. Thanks for your support!
Public Hearing on July 2nd at 7:00 PM for a Heavy Industrial Rezoning that will include a Heavy Truck Freight Terminal off Route 17.
Email sent to the Stafford Board of Supervisors,
I'm asking for transparency and honesty when it comes to the River Crossing options and the Belmont Park Industrial Rezoning.
I believe that the river crossing options have been narrowed down to Option A or Option 2 for many reasons. Both of those options go through the proposed Belmont Park Industrial project that is the subject of the July 2nd Public Hearing.
It appears that River Crossing Option 2 was relocated, and it became Option A to accommodate the Belmont Park General Development Plan. This was done after the Planning Commision sent the rezoning to send it to the Board in January.
I sent an email to both the Planning Commision and the Board of Supervisors in January asking for sunshine in the process, but never got a response.
The river crossing options were never presented or discussed at the Planning Commision Public Hearing and there is no mention in the Board Packet presentation for the July 2nd Public Hearing. Some of you campaigned on being more transparent, so again I'm asking for Sunshine!
After reviewing the Heavy Industrial Development Plan of Belmont Park and overlaying it with the new river crossing option A, I noticed that Option A is almost entirely in the Resource Protection Area stream bed that leads to the Waterfall.
That corridor couldn't be any more environmentally destructive. Either you are trying to kill option A and the river crossing altogether or you are trying to force it on environmentally sensitive ground that would increase the cost by tens of millions of dollars and create significant environmental damage that would be detrimental and impair the waterfall. Those are the two choices, which one is it?
I will send separate emails with concerns about the Belmont proffer loopholes, stormwater management and the Heavy Industrial Truck Freight Terminal.
