Concerned Citizens of Lake Winnebago have formed a Safety Committee to draw attention to an increased and impending danger to Lake Winnebago residents, family members, and friends exiting onto Kidwell road from MO State Hwy 291 into the South Shore residential area of the Lake community without access to a turn lane.

A steady increase in traffic flow on Hwy 291, with seven exits located within a one and a half-mile stretch of two-lane highway, with every size and type of vehicle traveling at a speed limit of fifty-five miles an hour, poses a high risk and imminent danger to anyone attempting a safe exit from the highway. 

Please join us as we appeal to local decision-makers and elected public officials in garnering support in finding a safe solution to an increasingly dangerous situation that is detrimental to the future safety of all Highway 291 travelers and residents of the City of Lake Winnebago.

Our goal is to avoid one more death or injury from ever occurring due to a simple turn into Lake Winnebago.
