Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Watha, and I'm a first-generation law student running for the position of 1L Treasurer! I am deeply dedicated to making our first year of law school as exciting as possible, and I believe my skills and experience will allow me to serve our class effectively!

Financial matters touch every aspect of our education, from the allocation of funds for student organizations to social events. I attended the University of Michigan where I studied economics and took a multitude of finance courses. Additionally, I was the treasurer for a prison decarceration and advocacy organization for two years. I aim to ensure our financial activities boost our academic and social experience at Detroit Mercy Law!

It's important for our class to have a Treasurer who is passionate and dedicated to our collective success, and I would love the opportunity to be the person to do so. Please support my candidacy by signing this petition and help us make our first year at Detroit Mercy law school memorable. Thank you!
