Enshrine Jimmy Buffett Posthumously To The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame

The Issue

Long overlooked for his brilliant storytelling and unparalleled work ethic, James William Buffett has deserved inclusion in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland OH. With a career spanning 5 decades and millions of albums sold,  a sold out tour every year, record labels, a satellite radio station, not to mention restaurants, resorts, et al. Jimmy Buffett was an American Icon. Setting the stage for everyone to let loose and enjoy life for awhile though his blend of lyrics and music that transported you from Middle America to the Central Carribean, and for a 3 hour show the beach came to you. His train of hits "Margaritaville", " Cheeseburger In Paradise", "Fins", " Volcano", "Why Don't We Get Drunk", " Son Of A Son Of A Sailor", "Come Monday", and his #1 collaboration with Alan Jackson " It's 5 O'clock Somewhere" to name a few keep his loyal fans or Parrotheads among the biggest in the industry. 20.6 Million records and almost 2000 live shows later Jimmy isn't in the Hall of Fame, has been eligible since 1996, and has never garnered consideration. His music has inspired generations of performers and has created a genre by himself. Often collaborated with other artists and produced music in his studio in Key West, FL. Although he went 36 years without a hit record he continued to tour the country to sold out shows showing his incredible influence on the music industry and lasting power in the business.

Bestowing this Honor to Jimmy and immortalizing him as one of the greatest musicians in history is long overdue and well deserved. Presenting the award to his loving wife Jane, who was by his side until the end; his bandmates The Coral Reefer Band, whom he called his "other family"; and his 3 adoring children, 2 daughters and a son; would be the validation of years of hard work and long tours away from home.

Please make this vision a reality.
