Our goal is to get a bill passed, So people at the age of 80 and older have to retake the drivers test in order to renew their license. 

Here is some more info and why this can help keep the roads safe!

Most people might think that elderly drivers are not a danger to themselves and others because they have experience driving, but sometimes this is not the case. Drivers aged 70+ have higher crash death rates per 1,000 crashes than middle-aged drivers. In addition to that, every day, 25 older adults are killed and over 740 are injured in crashes (CDC). Some states have already found a solution, and that is getting a law that would require  people aged over 80 to take a test every 5 years to confirm that they are safe to continue driving. Because other states have passed a law regarding this problem it shows that it is a relevant problem. Because of that it would make sense if the law was also passed here in Massachusetts to ensure people feel safe driving on the road.
