Video visitation while a step forward in technology it is a step back in regulating the industries making a profit on our counties most vulnerable populations.

It is not and should not be the business of Dallas County to make a profit off the backs of the families of the incarcerated, nor to empower a private corporation to charge unregulated rates, we have finally made traction on telephone rates, only to see the new business of video visitation to quickly take its place.

Video visitation is not an acceptable as a replacement for in person visits, video visitaion keeps people in the cycle of poverty, video visitation is not conducive to the type of family involvment that helps to curb recidivm.

We, the families of the incarcerated say vote no on video visitation, we are the people you are claiming to help, and we say no.
