We, the undersigned, in an effort to protect our land, agricultural economy, wildlife, property rights, property values, and real estate development potential in Wharton County, request that both the Commissioners Court of Wharton County and the El Campo ISD School Board deny the request from Wharton Wind, LLC and Seventus, LLC and their associated companies for a tax abatement. We further request that neither the Commissioners Court of Wharton County or the El Campo ISD School Board pass an ordinance creating a reinvestment zone for wind energy in Wharton County.

We want to accurately convey to our elected officials how those who live here, own property here, pay taxes here feel about the project. ***UPDATE 1/21/19 - The members of the Wharton County Commissioners Court have been removed from receiving this petition when it is signed, as they unanimously voted 5-0 to not move forward with hearing a formal presentation for a tax abatement.

However, this same item is now on the agenda for the 1/22/19 ECISD School Board meeting at 7 pm on Tuesday. ***
