The Issue

 INTRODUKSHON
P’esei ta doloroso pa wak ku poko poko algun parti di nos kosta ta bira ménos aksesibel pa e mesun pueblo ku a krese ku nan.

BAN AKTUA AWO!

- Ken ta maneha òf kontrolá entrada i salida.

INTRODUCTION
I grew up in Curaçao with the idea that the sea belongs to all of us. The beach is not just a place to swim; it is part of our culture, our identity, and our daily life. It is where families spend time, children grow up, elders walk, fishermen keep traditions alive, and our people feel their connection to our island. That is why it is painful to see that, little by little, some parts of our coast are becoming less accessible to the very people who grew up with them.

The sea belongs to the people, and if a beach is public, there must be a clear road or pathway so that every local person can reach it without having to pay for access. Accessibility has become a crucial issue in Curaçao, an island whose full potential lies in its customs and its people. The expression of our culture, our life, and our spirit is at risk because of these limitations that block public access to beaches.

LET’S ACT NOW!
Show your support so we can demand that the Parliament of Curaçao do its job of holding the Government accountable and protecting the public domain.

We demand that Parliament request the Government to submit a public report detailing access to every beach in Curaçao.

This report must show, for each beach:

-Where the public entrance is; whether there is a public road, route, or path to reach it;
-Who manages or controls entry and exit;
-If access is blocked, that the Government provides a solution.

This is not a simple petition; it is a fundamental right for all of us.

A right to enjoy the sea, our sea, without barriers or limitations.

THE FUTURE OF OUR ISLAND DEPENDS ON YOU
We appeal to you to sign this petition to protect the future of our island, and the use of our sea and beaches for our generation and for those yet to come.
