Stop the sale of Sevens Bar - A beloved local alternative bar
The Issue
As many of you know Myself & Jet moved into Sevens to reopen the once great Chesterfield bar which Jet had previously worked as DJ back in December 2019, with a dream to bring back the magic that Sevens once had and reignite the great nightlife of Chesterfield itself.
Shortly after opening and having agreed terms, we were notified that our Brewery(EI Publication, now partnered with Stonegate Pubs) had made the decision to sell our entire building meaning we would not only have to close our new business but also move home once again.
We strived incredibly hard, putting large amounts of our own personal income into making Sevens the place it is, welcoming to people from all walks of life, and for the next few months things went very well, infact we were making more money than initially expected and projected to have a successful first year in business.
Unfortunately Covid happened and we have been closed for most of the year as a wet-led premises focussing on the nightlife, we were closed very early on, we have survived with government grants and once again our own funds because to us this is more than a business, this is a home, this is a lifestyle, this is truly what we LOVE doing, giving our customers and supporters the best nights out and weekends to remember.
Whilst Covid has been ongoing our building has been up for sale since we were initially notified, there have been viewings and offers put down and next week, during Tier 3 restrictions, we have to allow more people into our home to look around and decide how they'd change it into flats or another takeaway
We are writing this in the hope we can gather enough support to show how much Sevens means to Chesterfield as a whole as much as it means to us, between us, we are ourselves and our wonderful staff, with all of you behind us we have a real voice.
We only need your words, your support, your kindness and belief in Sevens, as a business we are successful and we have received wonderful feedback, we're now asking for you all to help us keep this going for many many years to come
