Thank you all for signing the petition no matter where in the world you live. The outcries from the world are crystal clear: #StopShootingDogsEgypt #StopPoisoningDogsEgypt #StopAnimalCrueltyEgypt #JusticeForShalby We cannot turn a blind eye to this murder of SHALBY or ignore it. The extent Egypt intends to go lasts until 2076 with a mission to exterminate dogs. Egyptian government does not care they use drastic and unethical, immoral methods to control animal population. They are part of BRICS nations and as such should be embracing modernity and improvements for the country. Instead they are moving forward with arbitrary laws of a draconian nature that are designed to ruin the lives of people who own pets, care for pets, and decimate the homeless dog population by shooting and poisoning. This is extremely tragic and barbaric. Egypt should be proud of it's history and Balady dogs who have existed peacefully throughout Egypt dating back to Phoenician times with the honor of being embalmed in the tombs with Pharoahs right next to their owners. Cats also were considered as cherished and beloved animals that had hieroglyphs engraved on the pyramids as they were truly loved, respected and honored. What has the world turned into a place of vitriolic hate towards these innocent animals. It does not satisfy Egypt government to just destroy the lives of Balady dogs they want to pick up various breed of dogs: Cain Corso, Husky,German Shepard, Certain labradors, pit bulls, Rottweilers, and permanently separate and remove them from their owners. Time is of the essence to convey the message that this is cruelty at it's worst and is unacceptable.  We are not trying to be disrespectful to Egyptian authorities but it seems they are acting in a very deliberate manner to kill off all dogs no matter what. Shooting and poisoning is just unimaginable cruelty and I feel awful for things to have sank to very low depths and it's a shame on humanity. No matter your faith, race, creed, color, country of origin this needs to have a universal message that this is a very wrong step for Egypt to take. The country suffers pockets of extreme poverty interspersed with wealth. If there were cooperation and Egypt spent the millions of dollars on spay/neuter programs and invest it's efforts towards that rather than sinister poisons and shooting cartridges into the stomach and  skull of dogs it would be a better place to visit for tourism and would thereby boost the economy. I can only hope and pray that the moves Egypt seems intent on doing will somehow give them pause and a change of heart. We can pray for a better future for Egypt. But killing dogs will not promote tourism I can promise you that.
