This is an 11th hour attempt to SAVE CANDLESTICK PARK and RETURN the San Francisco 49ers to their rightful home: in San Francisco. 

Now that Lennar has cleared out outdated seating, plumbing, electrical, and hazardous materials, we DEMAND that the City of San Francisco HALT scheduled implosion and construction of mall and housing, and both the city and San Francisco 49ers REMODEL and MODERNIZE Candlestick Park, including parking lots, access, and rail transportation. 

It is RIDICULOUS and TRAGIC to destroy a stadium where one of the most successful football organizations in history played their most memorable games, and even more tragic, it is an EMBARASSMENT to the city that this homegrown franchise were ALLOWED to leave San Francisco in the first place. Lambeaux Field and Soldier Field were both remodeled, NOT DESTROYED, to perserve both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears' rich history. We believe that this should be done for Candlestick Park, the San Francisco 49ers have been more successful than BOTH of these teams combined.

It is CRIMINAL not to follow the example of Green Bay and Chicago and honor San Francisco history. We DEMAND that Candlestick Park be perserved and ready for football as soon as the Santa Clara lease expires, if not sooner. We suggest that the city of San Francisco and San Francisco 49ers organization work with Oakland Raiders to allow the Raiders to occupy and take over the lease of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara after the remodeling of Candlestick is completed. This would ALSO perserve another storied Bay Area organization to REMAIN in the Bay Area. 

 We call on ALL San Francisco 49ers fans, especially those who reside in San Francisco, as well as ALL football fans to SIGN and DISTRIBUTE this petition and help us perserve one of the world's most legendary stadiums in NFL history.'
