We need your help in preserving a tradition that has been practiced in San Francisco for generations – gathering around a bonfire at Ocean Beach. The National Park Service wants to restrict this recreational activity that is now one of the very few free activities families and friends are able to enjoy in what has become one of the most expensive cities in the United States.

Despite objections from Bay Area residents, the Park Service is moving to impose a system of expensive permits, available only online, and to ban bonfires entirely all winter long.

We urge you to act to protect the public’s access to this long-standing recreational activity and ensure the Park Service respects the traditions of our local community.
