We urge the Richmond RCMP to stop a racist flyer targeting the Chinese population

The Issue

Whereas

Recently residents in Richmond had received copies of a hateful, racist flyer targeting the Chinese population; and

Reports had been made to the police and the spokesperson of the Richmond RCMP had confirmed that incidents like this had a direct impact on our citizens and our community; and

Similar hateful pamphlets and graffitis were found in Richmond on several occasions in the last few years and no persons had been identified or arrested for such incidents so far; and

Many Richmond residents had expressed concerns and fear about the spread of such hateful incidents;

Therefore

We, the undersigned, urge the Richmond RCMP to make their best efforts to investigate these incidents and prevent future similar incidents from happening; and

Appeal to the different levels government to take all steps to promote multiculturalism and strengthen racial harmony in our community.
