A quick update. I have today had a response from the school who have, in short, said it is something that those who menstruate need to live with and learn to manage, and that absence will have a detrimental effect on their education. What about welfare, well-being and safeguarding. 

For those of you who have a opinion on this I would love to hear it. Please reach out across social media if you can and use the #DAISEE (Dysmenorrhea Acrion In School, Education and Employment) there needs to be a wider conversation and action.
