We warmly welcome the government’s announcement of compulsory sex and relationships education (SRE) in all schools. We are delighted that young people will now receive the information they need to recognise abuse, respect others, and navigate healthy relationships. We will be watching closely as more details emerge and welcome the government's commitment to engage with expert organisations to determine subject content. The introduction of compulsory, inclusive, good quality SRE, supported by teacher training and a whole school approach, is a vital preventative step in tackling sexual violence both in schools and in society more widely.
