POSTPONE NEET-UG 2021 TO OCTOBER

POSTPONE NEET-UG 2021 TO OCTOBER
The Issue
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate Exam 2021 is scheduled for mid-September along with several other entrance exams. NEET UG 2021 exam is to be conducted across the country on September 12 in offline mode. Students are demanding postponement of the UG exam. The reason isn't just covid.
The medical entrance date is clashing with CBSE private exams, state and national level UG entrance exams. To avoid this clash and have time to prepare for NEET-UG 2021, students are demanding that the exam be postponed to October.
Here are the dates of the various exams being held quite close to each other:
NEET: September 12
CBSE Class 12 improvement and compartment exams: August 25 to September 15
ICAR AIEEA 2021 UG (for BSc admissions): September 7, 8, 13
Karnataka CoMEDK: September 14
Odisha JEE: September 6 to 18
Several students have pointed out that the ICAR exam on September 13 is just a day after NEET 2021 and students wouldn’t be able to go from one center to the other in a day. Also, The CBSE Maths paper is also scheduled for September 13.
Many students are writing multiple exams along with neet and this would make the exam stress high if the neet date is close to these exams dates
NEET UG aspirants also require more time for preparing for the exam because of the change in the new exam pattern which was announced two months prior to the exam date.
States like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal were hit by heavy rain and flood and the internet connectivity was hampered. Hence, several students from these regions couldn’t fill in the NEET-UG application form. They have requested to extend the application window for the same.
Medical aspirants have taken to social media demanding that NEET UG be postponed by trending the hashtags #shiftneetug #delayNEETUG and #PostponeNEET on Twitter. But the govt has remained silent about any of our demands.
If JEE adv is on 3rd October and their academic session can be managed. Then why not NEET in October. We don't have multiple attempts like JEE main. For MBBS NEET-UG is the only entrance exam (as AIIMS,JIPMER are scrapped out) . Medical colleges are only to start in February in India , so a postponement of neet date by one month won't be a problem.
So we request the Education Minister and the NTA to take the wise decision of postponing the neet exam to October for the sake of students' mental stress and safety and so that every neet aspirant gets an equal chance in performing well during this tough time.
I urge you all to support us by signing the petition and sharing it.
