Lachit Borphukan Commander and great warrior of Ahom Kingdom of Assam who defeated Mugals and not allowed them to enter North East of India. It is very unfortunate that this great warrior did not find his rightful place in our history text books,. like Shivaji, Maharana Pratap, Lakshmi  Bai and Bajirao, not much is known about the Ahoms kingdom who ruled for 600 years and their resistance to the Mugals. Lachit Burphukan was Commander of Ahom Kingdom and defeated Mugals in 1671 in Battle of Saraighat.   Lachit Borphukan has not been given the recognition what he deserved.  It is the high time that we must remember those Warriors by embossing their names in Indian History Text Books with proud.
