It’s been over 12 months and all 12th graders are still in the same position. We have been attending online classes throughout the year , just to wait for 2 more months and hope things get better ? COVID-19 has affected us all . We know it is not an easy situation but it is disheartening to see how the authorities expect us to be okay with how they are handling the situation. If a piece of paper doesn’t determine our future , why are we so hell bent to make them happen ? The batch of 2020-21 did everything differently , so why can’t we do the final assessment differently as well?
Board exams are anyways a stressful situation and put children under pressure but adding these stakes makes the situation way more daunting . We hope people don’t assume that this is just a way for us to escape the exams . We have been preparing the whole year but just aren’t willing to put our lives and and our families’ lives at risk .Moreover , we would want to ask what surety and guarantee does the government give us that by June , the situation would be better ? Why are we being left hanging ? If there is no surety that india will be safe to take exams of lakhs of children then whats the point of mentally harassing the students for 2 more months? Having exams in June does not mean that we will be safe then . The process is just being delayed and therefore also affecting our future. What about the students who have applied for foreign admissions? Sessions all over the world won’t wait for indian students to join. The youth of our country will suffer as well. Entrance exams for indian universities are getting delayed and that will lead to late admission therefore , students will live in uncertainty for longer. Other countries with lesser number of cases can cancel the exam then why not india? These boards results do not decide our future. Its high time the education system should take out policies to pass each and every student with internal assessment marks or take these exams online. How can one expect a student to sit with mask for 3 hours specially in the month of june? The government of india and the heads of cbse should look into this matter before it gets worse. Its been more than a year and we are stuck in class 12th ,we think it is not fair for anybody. We suggest them to either take it online or do not take it all. We have been keeping ourselves safe from this deadly virus all year by not attending offline school then how can we risk the lives of so many people at once?
