We all have fond memories about our school, The Tenali Taluka Highschool; primarily, our lifelong friendships established here, and sincere teachers gave us great life lessons. However, have you ever wondered about the school's history and the current state of affairs about our great school?  This is a humble petition to the responsible authorities to save the Tenali Taluka High School and College.  Read on, to get to know what was happening to the coveted school.

In 1903, when few people with good intentions put in a government request for a school, the government gave land and money to build the school and established seven people as Trustees. The first high school in the Guntur district and in the 1965 government approved the college and provided funds to build. The government has been paying salaries and pensions (Rtd) to the teachers, lecturers and other staff to date. There are so many scholars working in different parts of the world, political leaders, Movie stars and IAS officers who studied in this school and college.

Over time, the current committee family eliminated other family members from committee and put all their family as members. They are projecting the school as their private property. They have been on the committee for a long time and attempting to quietly sell the school and college by manipulating the documents with a local lawyer's help. They have demolished some buildings during summer (may be 2004) and sold the teak wood for  crores and sold Branch high school (another renowned school) for five crores. There are so many court cases going on now on this committee. They do not provide students and staff necessities to demoralize and try to condemn the school and use yearly school maintenance funds to their benefit. Teachers, staff, and few people provide uniforms, food, and books to the current students letting students join the school.  Current strength in school came down to 65 from more than 3000 students and college to 52 from 900 students few years back. Few committee members partnered with a private school and putting posters on the school walls to join there. Are these people trying to avoid quality education to the needy people?

Collectively and individually, the alumni of Tenali Taluka High School and College Students would request your good offices to intervene and safeguard the legacy of our school.  We therefore, request the honorable Minister and rest of the responsible officers to preserve the great heritage by requesting the concerned to recover the embezzled funds, stop the school's planned dilapidation from the committee's, and save our taluka high school and bring back the glory to the school.  By acting decisively and firmly would lead into poor and needy getting education at the school in future too.
