STOP the closure of Ammanford Town Hall & The Old Library
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
We the undersigned oppose the proposed closure of Ammanford Town Hall and the Old Library by Plaid led Carmarthenshire County Council. If the 67 employees in these workplaces are moved to other parts of Carmarthenshire, it will have a significant negative impact on shops and services and the community in Ammanford. Moving workplaces will impact on may employees income as they will have further to travel to work and will be spending more time travelling. Already since 2010 the real value of local government workers' pay has dropped by 20%. The proposal to close these workplaces is the direct result of Plaid Councillors refusal to fight Tory cuts. We call on Plaid led Carmarthenshire County Council to:
* Keep Ammanford Town Hall and the Old Library open and retain all 67 jobs
* Engage in meaningful discussions with the trade unions and the people of Ammanford before future decisions are made
* The council should be open and transparent about what options it is considering
* Put the people of Ammanford first.
