The Edmonton Oilers 50/50 is fundraising massive amounts of money for the Edmonton Community Foundation ($2.5 million to date for the ECF over just 3 games).  At the same time, the homeless in Edmonton are displaced from the downtown core due to the NHL "bubble" and have been evicted from the Expo Centre.  The Ice District and Rogers Place also has displaced and otherwise negatively impacted the homeless population, and those facilities are part of the reason why the NHL chose Edmonton as a hub city. Fairness dictates that those who have been most negatively impacted by the NHL bubble and the building of Rogers Place and the Ice District - Edmonton's homeless population - should benefit from the massive amounts of money generated from the excitement from the same bubble.  Sign this petition if you think the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation should build a homeless shelter for the homeless population in Edmonton, to recognize the sacrifices that community has made to result in the Oilers' financial success.
