The Grand Trunk off-leash dog park in the community of Lauderdale is bordered by three extremely busy roads - 127 Ave, 113a St & 129 Ave - posing a danger to both dogs and motorists. This popular park is utilized by a large number of dog-owners in North Edmonton. A committee of concerned citizens is now working with the City of Edmonton to make improvements to Grand Trunk off-leash dog park. We are also asking city council to identify areas in North Edmonton that make sense to fence as off-leash dog parks 

It is estimated that one-third of Edmonton households own a pet. A fenced dog park provides dog owners the opportunity to safely take their dog off-leash in a contained area. By enhancing the Grand Trunk Dog Park and / or other off-leash dog parks to make them more accessible to dogs and people, we will encourage a healthy lifestyle and promote community spaces.
