The Edmonds Parks and Public Works Committee is meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, 6/11) in the evening. One of their agenda items is to discuss a supplemental contract with Parametrix (engineering and planning) for the concrete overpass on the beach (aka Sunset Connector). They already have a contract for almost $1 million of our Edmonds tax payer money for connector design - money we'll never see again. The new contract is for $2.3 million of our Edmonds tax dollars. We need to voice our objection to the authorization of this $2.3 million of our money. If we stop the funding, we stop the project!!
While there is not an opportunity for public speaking, you can make comment via email. Just email council@edmondswa.gov and tell them you opposition to this funding and why – tell them your comment is intended for the Parks and Public Works Committee. Every comment matters and it only takes a few minutes!
FYI – The petition continues to grow and grow. As of this writing at 10:10pm there are 4,400 signatures (which is amazing because just this morning before going to work there were 4,000). Let’s keep sharing it via email, Facebook and in person.
This summer will become known as the summer that the Greater Edmonds Community came together and saved the beach!
Thanks in advance everyone!
