My goal is to push for an equal dress code for male and female students involved in athletics and extracurriculars. The current rule under Edmond Public Schools policy allows males to be shirtless during given practices and rehearsals, yet limits the ability for females to wear a sports bra. Often the temperatures rise above 100 degrees, and allowing females to wear a sports bra would be much cooler. A female wearing a sports bra is no more revealing than a shirtless male. We need equality in the dress code. Please support this petition so I can present it to the school board in efforts to change the dress code rule prohibiting sports bras.
