'The Hindu' has been following unfair reporting styles discriminating Dalits.
Every time an event is reported with the involvement of one or more Dalit individuals, the term 'Fringe Dalit Outfit' is used without specifying the exact name of the outfit or the basis behind their 'fringe' classification.
However, in case of a Caste-Hindu group, the individuals are mentioned along with the specific mention of their caste and the caste-based outfit they are associated with.
Specific examples of such unfair representation of Dalits on news reports in 'The Hindu' are documented and analyzed here: http://bit.ly/1LnTgqE

In one case a Dalit and a Caste-Hindu group are being reported to have participated in a gang-rivalry where they killed each other. However, the Dalit is referred as a 'Dalit leader' without mentioning his caste or the organization he founded/associated with. The Caste-Hindu group is described with the specific title of the organization, mentioning the specific caste.
Also, the Dalit individual alone is reported to have used such attacks to establish himself as a 'saviour of Dalits.' The Caste-Hindu group engaged in similar retaliatory murders but their members are not referred to any such effort.
This kind of discriminatory reporting is forcing the public to stereotype Dalits as criminal ethnic groups which is not true at all. Murderers are murderers irrespective of their caste/ethnicities. We need 'The Hindu' to practice fair news-reporting styles which does not exclude any caste/ethnicity/group unfairly.
