A massive thank you to all who have supported Andy and I over the last months, it is vastly appreciated.
We have had lots of letters of support, written deputations, people giving us vital information, including from other Councils, all to pass on to the Edinburgh Councillors ahead of Andy and myself giving our verbal deputation on the 8th of August.
Not long now.
We feel we have done everything within our power to be as prepared for this as possible. Andy has done so much work asking for Freedom of Information requests, research into Council policies, information about green spaces etc, I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for all his hard work. Let’s hope it all pays off.
There is still time for you guys to help to, remember we only get one shot at this and there seems to be so many people affected by dogs being exercised in cemeteries, not just me. Linda Pedon (watch her deputation video, if you haven’t already) for instance.
We have heard lots of different stories along the way, like someone putting their hand in dog poo whilst attending their mother’s grave - can you imagine how distressing something like that is?
There is still time to try and share the petition details and try to break the 2000 barrier, we’re not too far off. You could also still write a letter to your local MP and / or Councillors. There is still time to write and submit a written deputation. The more ammunition we have, the better chance we will have.
I want to thank you all again for your support, it means a lot. If we manage to convince the Councillors on the 8th I know how relieved I will be and how massively it will help me move on and take a huge weight from my shoulders knowing Andy, myself and you did all we could for Xander and all the many others affected by this very important issue.
Love
Paul
