Petition updateEdinburgh Council to reinstate "No Dogs in Cemeteries" rule that was in place pre-Covid1612 Signatures - But The Gap Is Closing - Let's Double Our Efforts This Weekend

Good morning supporters - we hope you are having a great weekend so far.

At the time of writing, we have 1612 signatures on this petition, compared to 1026 on the counter petition.

That is still a healthy gap, however that gap has closed in recent weeks.

The Scotsman online vote is in an even healthier position, 71% to 28%.
You can still vote here: https://t.ly/LxhBS (half way down the page)

However, lets try and reverse the trend on the Change petition in the next few days - can we ask one thing of every one of our 1612 supporters here.

Get ONE more person to sign our petition over the weekend...just one. A family member, a friend, a work colleague, etc.

If all of you do that one thing, we would be over 3000 signatures. Just imagine.

Stress to them that we ARE NOT seeking an outright ban on dogs in cemeteries. We have supported from day one the continued exemption for assistance dogs (already covered under the Equality Act) AND dogs with mourners.

To remind of you of why we are doing this here is another photo that will form part of the evidence in our Deputation, to be delivered to Edinburgh Council on 8th August.

Another dog owner who insists on using a long lead in Morningside Cemetery, no doubt to exercise their dog....when Morningside Park is literally 30 seconds away.

Have a great weekend,

Paul & Andy
