In accordance with the high levels of druggings and drink ‘spikings’ happening within Edinburgh’s nightclubs, it should be made mandatory for these venues to increase their security and impose bag checks upon entrance. In doing so, it will make it more difficult for date rape drugs and other items, such as needles used to administer such drugs, to be taken into these venues. Hence, security measures should be put in place to help reduce the number of ‘spikings’ and assaults.
