Lower grade boundaries for Edexcel unit 4 A2 biology paper

Lower grade boundaries for Edexcel unit 4 A2 biology paper
The Issue
On the 16th June 2016 all Edexcel biology A2 students sat the unit 4 paper. However this paper hardly contained any of the information that was on the specification, instead the paper was filled with in depth AS knowledge that students were not informed was needed for the paper. Thus students who were retaking AS modules clearly had an advantage. The paper also contained many grammatical errors and a grainy diagram that students were required to identify structures within but these could not be seen clearly. As well as this, it has come to light that Edexcel have copied a unit 4 International A2 paper almost question for question, this the students see as unacceptable as some students may have seen this before hand (despite it being of a different specification and not on the Edexcel website) and therefore had a clear advantage. Thousands of A2 students acceptances into their chosen universities depend on the grade achieved on this unfair paper. We want Edexcel to accept the mistakes made on the publishing of this paper and lower the grade boundaries.
