Orca Whales. They seem like they're doing just fine, right? People are living their own lives like nothing's happening. All they see is clean, clear water, maybe some orca whales breaching, some boats and some ferries. Behind all this beauty is something horrible. Climate change.  

Because of Climate Change, the orcas have been getting really sick. Why? Because the temperatures of the water in the Puget Sound have been warming. Every 10 years, there is something called an El Niño Year. This means that the temperatures rise a lot faster and the Puget Sound has been a lot warmer in the past 10 years. This repeats over and over again. What is causing this El Niño Year? Global Warming.

 With your help, we can "lag" Global Warming, or make the temperatures rise a little slower than they have been.

"What else can I do," you might ask yourself. Well, you can visit the Sound Transit website to learn about what they're planning on doing to the light rail and how they are planning on expanding it.  What does the light rail have to do with Global Warming? Well, the light rail emits less Carbon Dioxide than your typical car. You can also go to NOAA and learn more about them and what they have done for the whales.

You wouldn't want your grandchild to come up to you and ask you what a Orca Whale was, do you?
