Good Afternoon Big Tupper supporters - It has been a couple of weeks since I sent out a petition update.  We have all been focused on social distancing and keeping our loved ones safe from the COVID-19 health crisis.  Many of our fellow NYer's are suffering as this virus runs its course.  It is not an appropriate time to push this petition further; so I am holding off on next steps for this economic development campaign. 

Unfortunately, our local economy as well as our national economy is going to be in tough shape after this health crisis.  In my humble opinion, this makes the effort to re-vitalize the recreational opportunities that Big Tupper enables, even more important moving forward!  The Adirondacks are an amazing place to visit, enjoy, and go skiing with your family. For generations, the Tupper Lake area was one of the busiest and most enjoyable places to visit during the long winter months.  We have so much to offer; but without the primary recreational asset we have here operational, we will continue to languish.  Now more than ever, we need to Ski Big Tupper Again for the benefit of our local and regional economy!  

Lastly, I want to thank every one of the 9,135 people who took the time to sign this petition.  It means something, it means that Big Tupper and the Tupper Lake region have a heartbeat.  We will continue to press our important message...just not right now.  Our prayers and thoughts go out to the people who are dying from the corona virus and their grieving families.  God bless our health care workers, our direct care workers, our home care workers, and our first responders!  Stay safe, be well.
