Columbus statues were initially constructed to reinforce the idea of a proud role-model for Italian-Americans during an era in which they faced much discrimination in the United States. However, the historic record has shown that Columbus committed many atrocious acts and is arguably not worthy of admiration. Monuments in his honor bring to mind the legacy of colonialism and are offensive to indigenous people. Why not replace a statue of someone fairly irrelevant to the local populace of Easton, PA, with a statue immortalizing a much more respectable and relevant Italian-American actually from Easton: Adult Film Superstar Lisa Ann? 

Bad Things About Christopher Columbus:
-Subjugated and enslaved the Arawak people (Men, Women, AND Children)

-Ordered indigenous people to collect gold with the understanding that if they did not collect enough, their hands would be cut off

-Beheadings, Rape, Mutilation, and general cruelty towards men, women, and children of the indigenous peoples of Haiti

-Probably missed some stuff

-Born AND raised in Easton, PA

-Proud Italian-American

-Considered to be the most popular adult actress in the world

-Serves as a mentor to young actresses

-Successful talent agent and advocate for mature actresses

-Widely known for her impersonation of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin

-Owns at least two properties (New York City AND Los Angeles)

-Has appeared in the Showtime series Billions (season 4 episode 7)

-Vociferous supporter of young black males

-Athlete and fan of athletics
