With the Coronavirus outbreak in the United States occurring, there is the worry that coming back from Spring Break travels could spread the virus on college campuses. Other universities such as Princeton University and West Virginia University have already taken action and are having students stay home for virtual instruction. 

West Virginia University has suspended classes March 23-27, extending their Spring Break by a week. Beginning Monday, March 30 classes will be delivered remotely via online or other alternative learning options.

With eight cases of Coronavirus in Kentucky and travel during Spring Break being frequent, EKU should take safety precautions in order to prevent the spread of the virus. It is vital to mitigate the community spread of the virus and ensure student safety. Therefore, Eastern Kentucky University should suspend classes until the university is sure that students can return to campus safely.
