think to be clear on what the concerns are, it relates back to Councils recent interview with Eastbourne Buzz. Concerned parents and supporters contacted us when Coucillor Tutt had said in his Interview 1. " the Plans for the New Sovereign Centre Swimming pool would go ahead in the next 2 years and that the skatepark would be attached to that". Many are just unsure if that means the skate park will go ahead alongside that, before it or after it? Really, once the final design has been fully agreed, and final contractor has been confirmed, it should only take 3-6 months to build, This could have been done in time for Extreme. Prepare yourselves for at least another year, again we will let you know in due course. 2. " we have been working closely with the young people to give them the ramps and jumps they want rather than the ones the council professionals thinks is a good idea" Unsure about this statement too The designs handed in were the original designs, all wheeled sports BMX, Scooter, Skateboard, RollerBlade agreed that with The Gilly and Hampden Park being concrete, Eastbourne needed a big Wooden Park accessible to all Extreme Sports. The Council did ask for a wish list, so we asked that we keep the original designs, but with bigger boxes, Mini W Section and a better street section. The original designs were handed in back in January along with a variety of sources for contractors. As far as we know there is not concerns over the design We will continue to work alongside the council and provide them with the huge amount of support, experience and knowledge that we all have in this area and hope that with the collaboration of all those skills, we will see the return of The Gooden
