SLOW DOWN IN SCHOOL LANE! 2 cats have already been killed, next time it could be a child!
The Issue
Hi everybody, this petition is about getting people to stop speeding along the lane I live in, it’s a narrow residential road and has a school on it. Within the last month 2 cats have been killed, 1 driver didn’t stop…
The driver that didn’t stop ran over my beautiful ginger boy cat while I watched in horror, I was too shocked to take in much detail about the car. Unfortunately he ran off and I haven’t found his body. It having been 2 weeks I feel he has passed away, otherwise he would have come home.
We are all devastated at loosing our gorgeous boy. Especially my young daughter.
Just today (20/10/21) another cat has been hit and killed, with another family with children left distraught over the loss of their beloved pet.
I live in a small lane in Peasmarsh, East Sussex. It’s a road to a school with a 30 mile an hour limit. Unfortunately people ignore this limit and speed up and down without a care.
I want to ‘encourage’ East Sussex Highways and traffic and safety to reduce the speed limit in line with other schools in East Sussex, too 20 miles per hour and to put in traffic calming, speed bumps or a speed camera to enforce the speed limit before a child is killed.
Loosing a cat is devastating, I can’t begin to imagine loosing my daughter!
I feel something has to be done urgently before a human life is lost. Reducing the speed limit and enforcing it can only be good for the village.
If we manage to get this sorted in Peasmarsh it can be used as a president for other small villages nationwide.
Please sign and share as widely as you can… STOP more families loosing beloved pets and help prevent the complete devastation that could happen if someone was to kill a child.
