At the ESCC planning committee meeting on 15 December 2021, a decision was taken to move Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs Library to a storage area at The Joff Youth Centre. 

Not only will this have a severe impact on those currently using the space at The Joff for music, social interaction, exercise and other therapy classes, and limit the opportunities available to them, but it will prevent the ability of the library to provide the wide range of services which are currently available and on which members of our community rely. The planned move is budgeted to cost £165,000 - a third of the annual libraries budget for the whole of East Sussex - money which would be much better spent on identifying and constructing a new library elsewhere in the local area. The redevelopment of the Meridian Centre where the library is located has yet to be agreed - so why the speed of decision?
