Oppose Giant New Chicken Farm In East Yorkshire
The Issue
OBJECTION
Erection of 6 no. poultry sheds following demolition of 8 no. existing poultry sheds (Re-submission of 14/00079/STPLFE) | Manor Farm Main Road Wyton East Riding Of Yorkshire HU11 4DJ (expiry date Fri 4th Sep 2015)
- PLANNING APPLICATION NO: 15/02052/STPLFE (Applicant 2 AGRICULTURE LTD) made to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council on the 30th June 2015.
LOCAL AREA
The beautiful village of Wyton, East Yorkshire will be destroyed if the not local company '2 Agriculture Ltd' get planning permission by East Riding of Yorkshire Council for their plans to build 6 sheds housing 322,000 broiler chickens. Tourism in the area will take a backward step and it would also have a harmful effect on near by residents. Apart from the smells - the near by water course will be polluted even more than it is now.
ANIMAL CRUELTY
No animal deserves to spend their whole short lives living in sheds. Over use of antibiotics because of factory farming is established as the main cause for the immunity of antibiotics in humans. These sheds are concentration camps for these beautiful creatures who feel pain and suffer. We established human rights after the Nuremberg trials, it's time we stop supporting such atrocities for any life in 2015. We have already had one planning application approved last month by Communities Secretary Sir Greg Clark, who ignored the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's decision and his own Gov't planning inspector to allow an intense Beagle breeding farm in this area on planning grounds. To add a giant chicken farm close to that is not what the Hull City of Culture 2017 is about.
SOLUTION
By refusing this planning application to build this giant chicken farm, it would keep the quality of the residents lives, encourage tourism and show concern for the benefit to human health now and in the future, it would also be a step forward on how we - as a nation, should not be treating animals and their health in the 21st Century.
