Progress (At Last)

Good evening from Giffnock,

I have been informed today by Fields in Trust that they received the application from East Renfrewshire Council to protect Huntly Park this week.  That took approximately 6 months after East Renfrewshire councillors voted to protect the park.  The vote followed our petition (and notably came just before the Scottish Parliament election).  I have learned that if you want to get something done locally, you have to stay on the case.  You have to speak up and keep speaking up.  There can be no letting up or complacency until the job is done.  I remain on the case and I will only regard our petition as having won once the protection is securely in place.
