Good afternoon from a warm but overcast Giffnock,
If we are going to capture the imagination with Huntly Park and our other local parks, we need to continue to show how much they mean to us. Litter collection is one way to do that.
I am now working with others to make community litter collection a coordinated activity here in Giffnock and Thornliebank. As a fellow parent partnership member mentioned, it can be a social thing too.
Some of my fellow community councillors already do this in and around the Glenwood Family Centre in Eastwood Park. Civic and community minded people at their best - I love it.
Here is a photo of what I found today in Giffnock. I will put it down to an overflowing bin, which convinces me that we need bigger bins in our parks which are capable of taking extra rubbish that volunteer litter collectors want to deposit. 4 minutes well spent.
