Demand an end to Parking Fines at Clarkston Toll, Glasgow

Demand an end to Parking Fines at Clarkston Toll, Glasgow
The Issue
Recently, East Renfrewshire Council have taken the decision to implement the enforcement of parking fines at the Clarkston Toll roundabout in Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, outside the Helena Place flats on Busby Road without just cause or reason.
Parking at the best of times in this area is very limited and most residents are forced to park in the nearby by car park which serves Clarkston Library. However, during the day, the car park is full as many people utilise the car park as an informal park & ride service in conjunction with the nearby Clarktson Train station.
Consequently, residents literally have no where to park during the day and given the fact that the spaces outside their property are now subject to parking fines should they fail to return to and move their vehicle after a period of 1 hour has elapsed, they really are being ignored and discriminated against by East Renfrewshire Council. This is a clear attempt by the council to exploit the opportunity for what it is to unethically make money from residents with vehicles who all presumably pay relevant Road and Council Taxes respectively. At the very least the council should have consulted property owners in the area and issued residents with parking permits for the area. Despite the many complaints to date, the council and their bureaucracy have failed to sympathise with local residents and work with them to come to a sensible and reasonable solution to the issue.
Please sign our petition to Demand an end to this unfair, unethical and unwarranted enforcement of parking tickets on the local residents of Clarkston Toll!
