It is becoming more clear by the day - students and educators in the East Lansing Schools fear for their safety.

A majority of the East Lansing School Board appears to have embraced an approach to school safety that is divorced from reality.

The President of the School Board violates the District's bullying policy in her interactions with staff and the public.

In order to restore confidence in the East Lansing School District, we need to make a change. 

Choosing to put an emphasis on safety for students and educators is not a signal that inclusion and equity are not important. 

Virtue signaling rhetoric does not provide security or opportunity.

As a parent, taxpayer or supporter of the East Lansing Schools, we call for the resignation of School Board President Kath Edsall and those board members who continue to support Edsall's refusal to recognize the need for a safe learning environment.

Our community recognizes the importance of a quality school environment. Kath Edsall has not delivered.

We need to make a change to restore the proper balance in our school leadership.
