Thank you for showing interest.
The district plan for the new housing development proposed for Ware is in its final stages having already been put in front of the inspector, yet very little awareness has been raised with local residents about the impact this will have on the town centre and quality of life of those that call Ware, home.
The plans are vague but the facts are between 1000 - 1500 homes are coming and they'll be built on high grade agricultural land east and north of the town. It will create a huge burden on feeder roads to the town as well as strain on links out of town – rail into London, roads into Hertford and the A10.
This petition has been set up because the residents of Ware and those that are fond of the town demand to know more about its future and play an active part in quashing helping to shape these plans.
The plans for Ware are immense – 50% increase in footprint of Ware. All situated away from the town (putting pressure onto the feeder streets). Retail units. 1000+ homes. A relief road and complete new sewerage funnelling out to Rye House. But the town can't cope. The train line and roads are already at max - dear little Ware might not be that little anymore and it certainly won't be dear anymore if it all goes ahead. And right now it's an IF. But it could start in 2020.
We need you – we plan to send this petition to East Herts Council, and we've also asked you to comment on their portal, although this is now closed for comment.
A Facebook Group has been set-up to announce meet-ups and further information, all of which can be found here:
