On May 21, 2020 East Carolina University cut its Men’s and Women’s swim and dive program. This program is one of the best in ECU history it has seen 2 National Championships, 15 National Champions, 47 All-Americans, 21 Conference Championships, 300+ Event Champions, Highest GPA in the conference and at one point in the country, and many other outstanding achievements.

In recent history the Men’s Swim and Dive team have won 4 out of the last 6 conference championships including this past years championship. The women’s team has improved this past year from 6th in the conference to 4th and was going to be even better next year.

The worst part about cutting this program is that the team was a family. They supported each other no matter what, they inspire each other to be better in the pool and in the classroom, and they have made a lasting impact on everyone who has gone through the program.
