I’m a student at East Brunswick High School, and I believe seniors deserve the chance to end their high school years with a memorable tradition: a senior trip. Right now, EBHS does not offer senior trips, and the Class of 2026 may graduate without this important experience.

Senior trips are more than just a fun day—they’re about celebrating four years of hard work, creating lasting memories with classmates, and strengthening our school community. Unfortunately, East Brunswick students miss out on this tradition while many nearby schools, such as Old Bridge High School and Spotswood High School, continue to provide senior trips for their students. It feels unfair that surrounding districts give their seniors these opportunities while EBHS students are left without them.

Historically, East Brunswick did have senior trips, but they ended in the late 1960s. Since then, generations of seniors have gone without this experience. Bringing them back would not only revive a piece of EBHS history, but also ensure that our students have the same opportunities as those in neighboring schools.

This petition calls on EBHS administration and the East Brunswick Board of Education to reinstate senior trips starting with the Class of 2026 and continuing for all future classes. With the support of students, parents, and faculty, we can bring back this tradition and make sure East Brunswick seniors are celebrated the same way other schools’ seniors are.
