Winding up a fun day at Little Farm with some playtime on the playground my 3 year old daughter darted into the parking lot believing we were leaving without her. Thankfully,  the car was able to stop before hitting her. This happened in an instant even though we were standing 5 feet away from her.

The entrance to the playground opens directly onto an active (and busy) parking lot .  The fencing is minimal and there are no gates. This poses a major safety concern - since the playground is often very busy, as is the parking lot. This also does not conform to California law  which requires a fence to be built around playgrounds when near a road or other safety hazard (see reference below).

I've spoken to the East Bay Regional Park's operation manager for this area about my individual concerns. He is soliciting opinions from other district offices. This petition is to add the voice of families supporting a fence around the Little Farm Playground.
