1.A transgender student has the right to use the restroom for the gender to which they identify just as a non-transgender student who identifies with their birth-assigned gender has the right to use the restroom for that gender.

2. A transgender student has the right to be called by the name they choose. Names tend to be gender specific thus creating discomfort for a transgender student who does not want to be called by their given name.

Those are the two concepts this school board voted UNANIMOUSLY to recognise just days ago which they are now going to vote to rescind due to religious and political opposition.

The school board, with a vote to rescind, will be teaching the students that it is okay to discriminate and that it is okay to treat those who do not fit conservative society's definition of 'normal' as though they are subhuman and undeserving of equality and fair treatment.
